In this quiet, quirky town, no one knows that Logan’s alter ego is famous sculptor and tabloid darling David Cambre. In New York, he had all the wrong kind of attention, but in Harrington, he’s found peace, privacy…and Saffron. She’s witty, forthright, and so much sexier and stronger than she knows. But how do you protect the love you’ve been waiting for when your own lifestyle could be destined to rip it apart?
Revised edition: Previously published as My One and Only, this edition of Waiting for the One includes editorial revisions.
This is a simple love story, their is some drama. But for me this is a little more vanilla love story than I usually read. What caught me right from the start was Saffron. She is funny, quirky, totally lovable, and is constantly quoting movie lines (many from my favorite movies). Her circle of friends are a wonderful addition to the quirky madness that makes up her life. I was totally charmed by her.
Then in walks Logan. Logan isn't what he seems on the surface. What you see is a recluse who looks like a bearded lumberjack. But his silence is a challenge to Saffron, she is determined to get him to talk to her. So she goes about spouting random things just to see if she can get a reaction. It's a funny game, and one that had Logan falling for her. But his past, and alter ego, is what he is hiding from. Afraid that his other life will interfere with what he has found in Harrington, he keeps to himself. Saffron just has a way with pealing back the layers and when she hits him with a funnel cake, he cracks. Their romance is charming, passionate, and a true love story.
But who Logan really is is what brings in the drama that threatens to destroy them.....
I cried with them, laughed with them, and became totally attached to them. Well worth the read. And since I am still charmed by them 24 hours later.....5 stars!
