Except for one person. A girl with dark eyes and even darker hair.
A girl who isn’t even an option.
At least, not anymore.
Dre can’t decide who she’s going to listen to. Her heart, her head, or her body. Because two out of those three things have her heading right back to Logan’s Beach. Closure is what she tells herself she’s seeking, but when she unlocks doors that were never meant to be opened she soon discovers that when it comes to Samuel Clearwater, closure might NEVER be an option.
This is book six in the King Series and the second part of Preppy and Dre's story.
Oh my flipping god Frazier, what have you done. Why!?!
There are those series, through experience, that have you fear the next chapter. Afraid that the end of the next chapter is THE END of the book. Will I have closure? Or will I be hit in the face with a cliff hanger? Well, guess what I got........
Preppy, King, and Bear are each so unique that it's hard to say which one is my favorite. This series as a whole is a favorite, but I can't say I like one more than another. They each have had their own trauma. But have also had their own happiness.
If you have read the first Preppy book, then you know what happened to him. You know the amount of pain and suffering he had while imprisoned by a mad man. It takes a lot to come back from that. It should have driven him over the edge to insanity or death. But one thing kept him tethered to this world, HER.
No on knew he was still alive, they all grieved his loss and moved on. So to have him back, no one is prepared for what it's going to take to save him. Only she has the power to do that. And so the next part of our journey begins. The first steps down the road to redemption, healing, life, and death. It was an addictive page turner for sure, and I was equally afraid of each chapter the closer we got to the end. Where were we going to end up? Were we going to get the HEA Dre and Preppy deserve? Maybe. King and Bear only had 2 books each, so this being book 2 left me with my fingers crossed. I don't really want this series to end, it's just that good. So I was happy and frustrated that Frazier is going to keep us on the hook a little longer........
